When I wrote about rocks and crystals, I introduced the properties of the crystal systems. Each system has particular attributes that could be harnessed to improve some aspect of our personality. In this post I’m focusing on cubic crystals.

Cubic crystals are those crystals characterised by having their symmetry axes at 90 degrees and a square structure.

What are their particular crystal properties?

• – stability
• – regularity
• – control
• – organising
• – practical

If you are drawn exclusively to cubic crystals, you are a very logical person who doesn’t let anything or anybody decide for you, love your routines and habits – even the bad ones!-, tend to lack flexibility and are always serious, like to be punctual and precise, are very good at planning and can foresee any development.

Some examples of cubic crystals are: Diamond, Pyrite, Fluorite, Garnet and Sodalite.

If you feel that any aspect of your life needs stability or regularity then use cubic crystals. Or, if you feel you need to loosen up a bit, cubic crystals are there to show you that you don’t have to take things too seriously. Place them close to the base chakra at let them help ‘regulate’ everything for you.

Tetragonal crystals are those crystals characterised by having their symmetry axes at 90 degrees, with one axis longer, and a rectangular inner structure.

What are their particular crystal properties?

• – easily adaptable
• – spontaneous
• – inquisitive
• – discreet
• – analytical

If you are drawn exclusively to tetragonal crystals, you appear more secure than you actually are, make changes easily, love surprise and the unknown, keep secrets (especially yours!), love searching for the truth and are quite scientific.

Some examples of tetragonal crystals are: Apophyllite, Zircon, Scapolite and Scheelite

If you feel you lack adaptability or spontaneity then tetragonal crystals are for you. Tetragonal crystals are there to show you that life is full of unprepared events that might change your point of view. Place them close to the sacral chakra at let them help ‘spice things up’ for you.

Orthorhombic crystals are those crystals characterised by having three unequal axes of symmetry at 90 degrees and a rhombic inner structure.

If you are drawn exclusively to orthorhombic crystals, you don’ like self-promoting, look at others’ needs before your own, like to keep a stable environment/play safe, tend to be socially aware, have an eye for detail and are undemanding.

If you need to be more focused, caring or need more stability in your life the orthorhombic crystals are ideal for you. Orthorhombic crystals are here to teach us that taking it slow is not necessarily a bad thing. Place them close to your solar plexus to ‘balance’ your life.

Some examples of orthorhombic crystals are: Celestite, Damburite, Dumortierite and Aragonite.
